You help us combat muskrats within the water authority's management area. In your way, you ensure clean, safe, and sufficient water.
As a Musk Rat Controller, you will work in the Watersystem team. You will operate from our work locations in Almelo, Hardenberg, Sleen, Hengelo, and Emmen. The Watersystem team has 60 colleagues. What makes working in this team unique? Mainly the variety of expertise within the core process. Thanks to the involvement and helpfulness of your new colleagues, you will never stand alone!

We face major challenges due to climate change, water quality requirements, and our sustainability ambitions. We are experts in purifying wastewater and managing and maintaining nearly 4,000 kilometers of rivers, streams, and ditches. We do all this with great commitment and connection to our living environment. Over 500 employees work hard daily to care for the water in Twente, the Vechtdal, and Southeast Drenthe.
Where Will You Work?
At Water Authority Vechtstromen.
For this fantastic position at the Water Authority, you need to bring substantial knowledge and/or experience:
Demonstrable knowledge of laws and regulations regarding flora and fauna;
Demonstrable knowledge of animal behaviors in the field;
You can identify tracks in the field and changes (including flora) in and around the water;
A valid BE driving license;
At least an MBO level 3 diploma in a relevant field (e.g., water management);
Swimming proficiency.

Naturally, you do too, as that's one of the reasons you will fit in so well. You combat muskrats, manage and craft trapping tools, and record catch data. Collaborating with colleagues in field searches is also part of your role. You are part of the total control team and enjoy working outdoors for the Water Authority.
