 We are looking for a head chef for short assignment starting from 10.6 – 20.9.18

The place is located inside the highest mountains area in Norway and is accessible only by foot or by a ferry on the freshwater lake. This is about as close as you get when wanting to experience the best of the mou ntains.

    • Taking full charge for the kitchen operations
    • Coordinating the events and menus with management
    • There are in total 3 cooks, one other cook is responsible for the breakfast and who is also helping out with the rest of the day and stepping in on free days for the others. Working with lunch and dinners, mostly fixed 3 course dinners consisting of soup, main course like chicken, steaks, meatballs, beef and dessert like fruit salad, pudding or a cake. Some of the courses are made from basic ingredients, some from half made products. This is “home made” cooking Norwegian traditional style food, large plates with brown sauce for hungry hikers. Everyone in the kitchen is doing everything like cutting, making the food, dishwashing and cleaning the kitchen. The head chef is in control of the kitchen and keeping it organized, not orderings.
  • Remuneration
    • Salary - 190 NOK per hour - netto per month = 21 633 NOK or 2277 euro net
    • Tax/Deduction - as stated in contract, 24,9 %
    • Working hours per week - 40 hours and half
    • Working days per week - 5 days a week
    • Holiday -10,2%
    • Accommodation - Accommodation in double or triple bed rooms, sharing bath/WC. NOK 124 per day including all meals. That is NOK 3844 per month (31 days)
    • Overtime is paid with 40% when working more than 9 hours in one day
    • Meal - covered
    • Must bring along own cooking uniforms and shoes, but not any knives.
    • Tickets - covered by us and deducted from salary
