Brief Job Description

 One driver per team of two required.
One English speaker per team required.
Window fitters must have 4 years experience working on similar social housing contracts.
A team) must be able to remove the existing upvc windows install a minimum of seven standard upvc windows inclusive of  upvc trims, silicones and acrylics per day. All to the satisfaction of our site manager.
Windows will be collected by the team  from our site warehouse on a daily basis.
Old windows that have been removed will be dropped into a skip at the site warehouse on a daily basis.
A team can install any amount of windows over and above the seven indicated in item 3 i.e. the more they install the more money the earn. Our site manger will book out whatever the team indicate they can install. This is subject to our site manger being comfortable that the specific team are capable of installing what they are promising and to the standard required.
Accommodation can be provided by the employer. For each working day i.e. if the team are working five days we will pay for five nights accommodation.
A transit type van will be supplied for the installers to use whilst on site.
Fuel will be supplied for the above van during working hours (item 8)

  • Responsibilities
    • Load windows up at site warehouse.

    • Place dust sheets and floor protection etc. in front of existing windows.

    • Remove existing upvc windows carefully to avoid damage.

    • Place old upvc windows into van.

    • Clean aperture ready to install new upvc windows.

    • Install new upvc windows to current industry standards.

    • Make good with up to 60mm trims and flat boards as required.

    • Clean and silicone inside and out.

    • Skip off old windows at site warehouse into skips provided.

  • Remuneration
    • Salary - We would expect each individual operative to earn in excess of £600 per week for 5 days (providing they can do the work and to the standard required). Accommodation on days worked, transport and fuel will be paid for by the employer. i.e. rates = Each window is paid at £27 per window. i.e. 7 = £189.  8 windows = £216. 9 windows = £243  10 window = £270. 11 windows £297. 12 windows = £324. 13 windows = £351. Our staff on site at the moment are installing between 9 and 13 per day. We guarantee that 7 windows minimum will be available to fit, five days per week. Saturdays and Sunday working may be available. However this will not be deemed part of the working week and will be up to the individual installation team if they would like to work or not
    • Tax/Deduction - STANDARD UK TAX & NATIONAL INSURANCE
    • Working hours per week - 45  HOURS PER WEEK, most likely 8 am till 5 pm
    • Working days per week - 5
    • Holiday - 28 days paid holiday per year, standard public holidays

  • Documents
    • Cv in English with clearly stated window fitting experience and a passport size photgraph attached to it
    • References and cedrtficates are not a must, but would an advantage.
