1. A basic idea of the project

The project focuses on the need to improve the professional skills of 10 young people on the labor market, intending to continue their professional realization in the sphere of restaurants, giving them the opportunity to realize within 5 weeks training practice on the territory of a restaurant offering Mediterranean cuisine on the territory of the Republic of Cyprus.

2. Main goals of training practice

  • Improvement and enrichment of the professional knowledge and skills of participants in the specific area of Mediterranean cuisine;
  • Building a new professional culture among the participants;
  • Adaptation to work towards a new multicultural environment with a view to successful future mobility of participants as a workforce the labor force of the European labor market;
  • Introducing the participants in the experience and good practices of a country with a culture and traditions in the field of Mediterranean cuisine; with developed tourism, where Mediterranean cuisine and traditions are an attractive tourist product;
  • Increasing the possibilities for personal development of the participants;
  • A precondition for deepening partnerships and employers' organizations at European level.

3. Expected results

  • Learning new knowledge with a specific practical focus - Mediterranean cuisine;
  • Understanding the good culinary practices of Cypriot and Mediterranean cuisine in particular;
  • Improved competitiveness and attractiveness of the participants after their return to the Bulgarian labor market;
  • Improved skills for linguistic and social communication in a foreign multicultural professional environment.

4. Implementation of the project

  • Initial selection / selection of participants: 19.11.2012 - 06.01.2013
  • The preparatory phase. Preceding the departure of the group. This period includes an intensive English language course, a specialized language course in English to acquire specialized terminology in the field of restaurant management, a brief cultural preparation for Cyprus, and a training pedagogical module in the field of restaurant management.
  • Period of operation 10.01.2013 - 06.-03.2013
  • Practice. The duration of the practice in Cyprus is 5 weeks.
  • Period: 20.03.2013 - 23.04.2013
  • Final period. Report on the practice, evaluation of the project at the end of the training process.

5. Participants. Criteria for choosing.

The project is aimed at a select group of 10 participants who have graduated in the field of tourism, or with professional interests and priorities in the field of restaurant management, who will conduct their practice in a restaurant with typical Mediterranean cuisine. By improving their knowledge and skills through real-life training - on-the-job training, they will have better chances of finding a job and successful realization in the labor market, for better professional integration.

Typology: Young people on the labor market recently completed their education, self-employed or looking for work in the field of tourism - restaurants and hotels.

Training / professional field: tourism - restaurant, hotel, tourism support.

Level of education: completed level of education; a diploma or certificate in the field of tourism or restaurant, issued by professional qualification centers, tourism schools or colleges will be an advantage, basic knowledge of English.

Specific needs: the need to acquire specific experience in the Mediterranean cuisine; the need for new competencies in order to improve competitiveness and adapt to the ever-increasing requirements for qualitative and specialized qualification in the sphere of restaurants, in particular - Black Sea region: a need for personal development.

Confirming acquired skills:

Using the European Europass Mobility Certification Model.

 

6. Host organization

Arsinoe Beach Hotel - Limassol is part of the chain C.Kynigos Hotels Ltd. - Cyprus, with 33 years of experience in the provision of tourist services. The hotel was established in 1979. Specific areas of expertise: Tourism: Hospitality and Restaurant, Auxiliary tourism activities. The main tourist groups, which traditionally welcome the hotel every year, are from Great Britain, Russia, Poland, Czech Republic, Germany and Greece.

The partner "Arsinoe Beach Hotel" has the following tasks:

  • Implementation of practical and logistic support during the training practice - will be involved in accommodating the group participating in Bulgaria, organizing their meals, practical and logistic support on the spot during the mobility.
  • Monitoring and evaluation of the project;
    Assessment and Certification of Knowledge Acquired - will be responsible for recognizing the knowledge gained by the participants through the issuance of Europass Mobility certificates and a certificate of the host organization.
  • Dissemination of results - will promote dissemination of the results of the mobility of the territory.
  • In order to meet the above-mentioned commitments, Arsinoe Beach Hotel will appoint a person involved in the co-ordination activities of the host organization and a tutor appointed to assist participants on-site during the exchange.
